thanksgiving

I flew to Utah for Thanksgiving, I ordered wheelchair service in order to help me get through the airport easier. I think the airport is the only place that they aren't afraid to ask you if you need a wheelchair. I had just gotten out of the taxi and had taken less than 5 steps towards to doors of the airport when the Skycap asked me if I needed a wheelchair. I think it may have been a little obvious by the way I walked...I walked like I'm 95 years old!

Blake and Kara picked me up at the airport in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night (they had driven down from Spokane, WA on Monday). I spent Thanksgiving day with Blake and Kara at the Ballif family Thanksgiving. On Friday we had Thanksgiving again, this time with the Streuling family, hosted by Jenn and Justin.

On Thursday night my three year old niece Paige and I shared a room, the first thing she asked me on Friday morning at 6:40am was, "Krista, are you knees and arms better yet?"

After the Friday Thanksgiving dinner we hurried off to the Ogden temple to join my nephew Chase as he went through the temple for the first time. Elder Chase Streuling enters the MTC on January 6, 2010, he'll be serving in the Washington Kennewick Mission. I was glad that I was able to attend the temple with the family.

I had a difficult time going up and down the stairs at Kent's house but I managed. I stayed with Kent and Mary for a couple of nights, I talked with Kent about going on short term disability and if I should pursue that option. It was good to be with family and I'm grateful for the help while I was with family, help lifting my luggage, getting my seat belt on, getting sweaters or coats off and on, just the little everyday things that have become so difficult for me.

Kent dropped me off at the airport for my return trip home this afternoon. Traveling is hard on my body, I am ready to start feeling better and I'm very frustrated that I just seem to feel worse each day!
